This problem deals with trinomials, and trying to graph them by trying to find their separate parts, such as the vertex, y-intercept, the axis of symmetry, and the x-intercepts. By simplifying the trinomial, we find the parent function function equation. By doing this, we make it easier to graph the trinomial.
I think the reader should have in mind that we cannot graph imaginary number AT ALL in these graphs. The most important step in these problems is completing the square. We must be able to do this as easily as finding the slope when given two points. Also, we must write that "x=3" for the axis of symmetry, and not just write "3", because it will considered incorrect.
